Reversing the Jaws
The Xin Dian vise has reversible jaws. In one direction the jaws have the clamping distance of 8mm-35mm. In the other direction 35 to 55mm.
To reverse the jaws:
Unscrew the jaws until they slide free from the vise body. The threaded bolt comes out with them—do not flip or rotate it as you remove the assembly. Keep the bolt in the same orientation: the Allen-key socket end stays on the unmarked side of the body, and the 10 mm bolt head stays on the side marked with the rotation direction.
Rotate the jaws 180 from the sides of the vise they came, and reinsert them into sliding onto the grooves of the body. The jaw marked B should be on the side of the vise marked with the rotation direction. Apply pressure on both jaws against the threaded bolt so that they both start threading at the same time. The assembly intentionally has very little slop, so it can take some careful persuasion to get it back onto the grooves
Close the jaws and note where they meet. It should be in the centre of the vise, if not the jaws are on the wrong sides.
