Limitations
The following are important limitations that you need to be aware of when using the High Capacity Tool Rack:
- Makera firmware does not support this accessory. You must use the Carvera Community Software .
- The shank of endmills in slots must not stick out beyond 23mm otherwise the spindle will crash into them when changing tools. If you must have a tool with a longer shaft, the tool slots above and below must be kept empty. For this reason putting long tools into the last (16) or first slot (1) is recommended, as this minimises the number of slots lost.

Demonstration of max tool stickout above collar - Making use of the last slot in the tool rack will move the bed close to the back of the machine. If there are excess chips in this location they may interfere with the bed and cause the Y axis servo motor to raise a halt.
- Some of the tool slots have blind holes, if chips are allowed to accumulate there this can cause problems fitting tools in the slot. Be sure to give the slots a good vacuum time to time.
- Max tool length below the collar is 55mm in most slots. In slots 4 and 14 the max length below the collar is 70mm.
- The one exception to the above is slot 1 when performing a TLO Calibration on very wide tools (like the 3D Probe). For the 3D Probe with standard length stylus (20mm), the tailshaft of the tool in slot 1 need to be a max of 15mm stick out above the collar.
