Please note the following scenarios that can occur and how to resolve them:

Not fully seated tool gripper

Make sure that all the tool grippers are fully seated in their slots. If they are not, take the tool gripper out and push the spring into the recess for it.

Tool returned to slot not fully seated

Tools need to seat properly in their slots. If tools are being returned like below, the slot configuration is not correct, and likely 0.1 or 0.2mm wrong.

The easiest way to fix the slot is using the 3D probe to find the slot center. Lower the 3D Probe into the slot, and run the following commands replacing the text CHANGEME for the slot number being probed:

; find center of slot via bore probe
M461 X50 Y50 L2 Q15 S0

; save tool slot definition
M890 TCHANGEME X[#154] Y[#155]

Alternatively manually adjust the x/y position of the slot using:

  • M889 to see the current slot definition
  • M890 to change the slot location. See docs Community Docs for more details on parameters

Make small 0.1mm adjustments at a time to avoid damaging tool gripper.
